You can use either standard RCA cables or Monster RCA (Component) cables for your Component video connections. The Monster cables will give you a somewhat better quality picture.
However, regardless of which cables you use, you must connect the three color coded Component outputs (labeled Pr, Pb and Y) on your video source to the three color coded Component inputs marked with the same color on your TV.
The Component connections are for video only. You will still need to connect the audio separately. On most TVs, there is a set of Left and Right Audio Input jacks associated with the Component Input jacks. See your user's manual for details.
On many TVs, there are more than one set of Component inputs. In most cases, each set has a separate set of audio in jacks associated with it. Also, in some cases, the Component inputs will only accept video input of a certain resolution (for example, only 576p and 1080i). See your user's manual for details. |
